The NCAA Women Coaches Academy provides skills training for coaches at all levels to assist them in being more efficient, productive, resourceful and successful. The academy is designed for women coaches who are ready and willing to increase their individual effectiveness by learning advanced skills and strategies that directly affect their personal and team success. The participants learn skills that are not sport specific, yet ones that are relevant and necessary for coaching responsibilities, beyond the X’s and O’s.

Garrison Forest School/MD, won the Grizzly tournament defeating North Hereford 3-0, in the finals.

Lk Braddock HS/VA, won the Herndon tournament defeating Culpeper County 1-0, overtime, in the finals. Meg Jarrell, Kelsey Mason and Sarah Morehouse were selected to the All Tournament team.

South River HS/MD, won the South River Tournament defeating Severn in the finals,    3-0. Earlier, South River won the rematch with 4A State Champs, Quince Orchard.

Nyman Tournament is this Saturday at Severna Park HS/MD. Teams include Roland Park, Severna Park, St Stephens & St Agnes and BCC.

Dara Downs, Senior at Robinson HS/VA, verbally committed to play for  #5 Wake Forrest University. Dara plays for Capitol Pegasus Club.

Sophomore, Kim Coyle, has stepped into the starting lineup for Syracuse University. Kim attended Blake HS/MD, and played for Washington Wolves.

Sophomore, Nina Bruno, is now starting for #10 Ohio University. Nina attended BCC/MD, and played for Washington Wolves Club.

Katherine Ballard, Freshman at #10 Ohio University is the super sub for the team, being the first player off the bench. Katherine attended Charlottesville HS/VA, and played for Capitol Pegasus Club.

Towson Tigers, defeated cross town rival Georgetown Hoyas, 3-1. Kajee MurangiSpringbrook HS/MD) scored 2 goals and Christine Boarman(St Paul’s/MD) scored the other. Micaela O’Toole(St Stephens/St Agnes) scored the lone Hoyas goal.

Chrystal Duffield and Jennifer Wisniewski, had a rare match up of former Capitol Pegasus goalkeepers playing against each other. Jennifer had 12 saves in a losing effort as Radford lost to #5 Wake Forrest   6-1.  Chrystal had 4 saves.

#9 AU Eagles Vs #2 UMD Terps, is scheduled for Wednesday, September 19 at AU. Battle for bragging rights for the area. Both teams are 6-0. Only AU Denise Infante is left in the collegiate ranks for this game. Older sister, Paula is an assistant coach with UMD Terps.

Freshman phenom, Katie O'Donnell leads the ACC and UMD Terps with eight goals, nine assists and 25 points. A member of the U.S. National Team, she's also tied for the team lead with two game-winning goals. On Sept. 3, Katie was voted the ACC Player of the Week.

 Denise Infante was named Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week for the third weeks in a row. Denise is #23 for AU Eagles.

Capitol Pegasus, Fall Field Hockey Clinic for 6-9 grades starts this Saturday, September 15, 2007. Saturdays from 4pm to 6pm at the Rockville Sportsplex. Information is on www.capitolpegasus.com or email coach@capitolpegasus.com
